Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your China journey
Getting Started
We start with a short questionnaire to understand your interests, travel style, and expectations. Then we schedule a Discovery Interview to clarify your goals. From there, we design a First Proposal, refine it based on your feedback, and deliver a complete travel blueprint. Throughout your trip, we remain available for guidance.
We recommend reaching out at least 6-8 weeks before your planned travel dates. For complex multi-city itineraries or peak seasons (Golden Week, Chinese New Year), 3-4 months in advance is ideal. That said, we can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines — contact us and we'll let you know.
No — while the Greater Bay Area is our signature and home territory, we design bespoke journeys across all of China. Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Guilin, Yunnan, Chengdu — we cover the full breadth of China's destinations. The GBA is simply where our expertise runs deepest.
Practical China
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Many countries now benefit from China's visa-free or visa-on-arrival policies. We provide up-to-date guidance on visa requirements for your specific nationality as part of our service. Hong Kong and Macau have separate entry requirements from mainland China.
China is largely cashless — WeChat Pay and Alipay dominate. As a foreign visitor, we help you set up a functional payment solution before and during your trip. We also provide guidance on which situations still require cash and how to access ATMs. This is one of the most common pain points for international travelers, and we handle it comprehensively.
China's internet is filtered, meaning Google, Instagram, WhatsApp, and many Western services are blocked. We provide practical guidance on VPN setup before your trip, as well as Chinese alternatives for communication and navigation that work seamlessly. Staying connected is manageable with the right preparation.
China is generally very safe for international tourists. Violent crime rates are low, and travelers are rarely targeted. The main challenges are practical — language barriers, navigation, payment systems — rather than safety concerns. Our service addresses all of these practical challenges directly.
Our Service
A complete Fourbridge travel blueprint includes: day-by-day itinerary with timing, accommodation recommendations (with booking assistance), restaurant and dining guidance, transportation logistics (including high-speed rail and local transport), cultural briefings, practical tips (payments, connectivity, etiquette), and emergency contact support during your trip.
We provide detailed recommendations and can assist with bookings for hotels, domestic trains, and local experiences. For international flights, we provide guidance but recommend working with your preferred travel agent or booking platform. We focus on the in-China experience — that's where our value lies.
We operate primarily in English and Mandarin Chinese. Our team is fluent in both, and our materials are available in both languages. We can also accommodate Cantonese speakers.
